Sanjiv
Sam Gambhir is the Director
of the Stanford School of Medicine Program in
Molecular Imaging. He is a Professor of Radiology
(and of Bioengineering, by courtesy) and Head of the Division of Nuclear Medicine.
Dr. Gambhir's research interests are directed
at the development of techniques to study various
molecular/biochemical events taking place in living
animals and humans, in their natural state, at
the cellular and sub-cellular levels. Positron
emission tomography (PET), single photon emission
computed tomography (SPECT), and optical imaging
are some of the tools being utilized to accomplish
this study.
