The Bio-X Program would like to announce the availability of two 2-year postdoctoral fellowships, starting October 1, 2009, with the possibility to fund one additional year. These awards were made possible by the Genentech Foundation and the Bio-X Program. Postdoctoral scholars with no more than six months experience and working in a Bio-X affiliated lab are eligible to apply. The award will be used to support stipend (at the minimum NIH level), benefits (postdoc only), and tuition.

Proposals and application materials may be submitted to the following email address: bio-x_fellowship_applications@stanford.edu no sooner than 9:00AM on August 19, 2009 and no later than 5:00 pm on August 24, 2009. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the submitted application is complete, including letters of reference. No applications or letters will be accepted after 5:00pm on August 24, 2009. Please include with the following application, a three page research proposal (including figures and references), two letters of recommendation, a current CV, a list of collaborating faculty, and a statement (100 words or less) that describes why the research is interdisciplinary and/or collaborative.

Letters should be submitted directly from the faculty writing the letter. Formatting details for the research proposal may be found below*. Any questions may be sent by email to bio-x_fellowship_applications@stanford.edu

One application per lab will be considered, and the award may not be used in combination with other funding to support stipend or salary.

Details regarding the administration of the award and the financial accounting will be provided at the time of the award.
