Clark Center Faculty, Bio-X Affiliated Faculty, Scientific Leadership Council MemberDr. Red-Horse's laboratory uses cardiovascular development as a model to study the signals that instruct cell fate and guide morphogenesis during organ formation in the mammalian embryo. -
Kristan Staudenmayer - Associate Professor of Surgery (General Surgery)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Kristan Staudenmayer received her medical degree at the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical School in 1999, and completed her residency in General Surgery at Parkland Hospital in 2006. During her post-graduate training, she conducted NIH T32-funded research at Harborview Hospital evaluating the effects of innate immunity on trauma. She obtained further training in Trauma and Surgical Critical at San Francisco General Hospital, completing her training in 2008. She was subsequently double-boarded in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

Kimberley Tolias - Professor (Research) of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Kimberley Tolias is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. The Tolias laboratory studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern neural circuit formation, plasticity, and repair in the mammalian central nervous system (CNS). In particular, the lab investigates how synapses and neural circuits form, remodel, and adapt throughout life to support learning, memory, behavior, and recovery following injury.
-
Kim Butts Pauly - Professor of Radiology (Diagnostic Radiology) and (by courtesy) of Bioengineering and of Electrical Engineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Pauly's current research interests lie in the area of magnetic resonance and MR-guided high intensity focused ultrasound for minimally invasive cancer therapy and neuromodulation. -
Kilian Pohl - Associate Professor (Research) of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (Public Mental Health & Population Sciences)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyThe foundation of Dr. Kilian Pohl's laboratory is computational science aimed at identifying biomedical phenotypes improving the mechanistic understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. The biomedical phenotypes are discovered by unbiased, machine learning-based searches across biological, neuroimaging, and neuropsychological data.

Kevin Kelley - Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (General Psychiatry & Psychology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyAs a neuroscientist and psychiatrist, Dr. Kevin Kelley is motivated by how little we understand about the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders and hope that further knowledge will help to alleviate the ongoing distress of many of our patients. Dr. Kelley's research program leverages computational genomics, human brain cellular models, and molecular neuroscience techniques to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of human brain development and how dysfunction in these processes lead to psychiatric disorders.
