Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Dunn's research interests include intestinal lengthening for short bowel syndrome, intestinal stem cell therapy for intestinal failure, skin derived precursor cell therapy for enteric neuromuscular dysfunction, and intestinal tissue engineering. -
James Chen - Professor of Chemical & Systems Biology and of Developmental Biology and (by courtesy) of Chemistry
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Chen's laboratory integrates synthetic chemistry and developmental biology to interrogate the molecular mechanisms that control embryonic patterning, tissue regeneration, and oncogenesis. -
James Chang - Johnson & Johnson Professor of Surgery
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Chang's basic science research interests include modulation of Transforming Growth Factor-Beta in scarless flexor tendon wound healing and tissue engineered flexor tendon grafts for hand reconstruction. -
James Brooks - Keith and Jan Hurlbut Professor
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. James Brooks's group's interest is in developing diagnostic and prognostic markers for urological diseases. Their work spans discovery, measurement methodologies, and clinical validation of candidate biomarkers. They have primarily used genomic and proteomic approaches for biomarker discovery. While their primary focus has been in prostate cancer, we have also worked in kidney cancer and other malignancies.

Bio-X Affiliated Faculty, Clark Center FacultyDr. Henderson's research interests encompass several areas of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. -
Jaime Lopez - Associate Professor of Neurology and (by courtesy) of Neurosurgery
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Lopez's clinical interests are in the areas of Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IOM), clinical neurophysiology, electromyopgraphy and in the use of botulinum toxins in the treatment of neurologic disorders. -
Jade Benjamin-Chung - Assistant Professor of Epidemiology & Population Health
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Jade Benjamin-Chung, PhD MPH, is an Assistant Professor at Stanford University in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health and Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Investigator. Her group conducts research to identify interventions to control, eliminate, or eradicate environmentally-transmitted infectious diseases, including malaria, diarrhea, soil-transmitted helminths, and influenza.
-
J. Kenneth Salisbury - Professor (Research) of Computer Science and of Surgery (Anatomy), Emeritus
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Salisbury's current research focuses on human-machine interaction, cooperative haptics, medical robotics, and surgical simulation. -
Ivana Maric - Assistant Professor (Research) of Pediatrics (Neonatology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Ivana Maric is an Assistant Professor in the Pediatrics Department at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on applying machine learning to improving maternal and neonatal health. Her main focus has been on developing machine learning models for early prediction of adverse outcomes of pregnancy from omics and electronic health records data, that could guide development of low-cost, point of care diagnostic tools. Her main interest is in solutions that are applicable worldwide and especially in low-resource settings.
