Dr. Eric Stice served as an assistant professor and associate professor at the University of Texas at Austin and as a Senior Research Scientist at Oregon Research Institute before joining the faculty at Stanford University. His research focuses on identifying risk factors that predict onset of eating disorders, obesity, substance abuse, and depression to advance knowledge regarding etiologic processes, including the use of functional neural imaging. He also designs, evaluates, and disseminates prevention and treatment interventions for eating disorders, obesity, and depression.

By studying how opioids reduce myocardial injury and how the pathways of nociception and cardioprotection are linked, the Gross Lab is designing next generation analgesics that are safe to use for those with cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Olcott's research interests include body imaging utilizing CT, ultrasound and MRI; as well as imaging of appendicitis, imaging of perineural invasion by pancreatic and biliary malignancies, imaging of trauma, and magnetic resonance angiography.

Dr. Knudsen's current research focus is to study mechanisms of attention, learning, and strategies of information processing in the central auditory system of developing and adult barn owls, using neurophysiological, pharmacological, anatomical and behavioral techniques.
