Bio-X Affiliated FacultyThe Urban lab is investigating the effects of variation in human genomes on normal and abnormal brain development and function.
-
Alexander Dunn - Professor of Chemical Engineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Dunn's current research is on the generation of force and motion inside living cells. -
Alex Macario - Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine and (by courtesy) of Health Research and Policy
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Macario is interested in the economics of health care, in particular the tradeoffs between costs and outcomes for patients having surgery and anesthesia. -
Alex Gao - Assistant Professor of Biochemistry
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyNature has created many powerful biomolecules that are hidden in organisms across kingdoms of life. Many of these biomolecules originate from microbes, which collectively contain the most diverse gene pool among living organisms. Dr. Alex Gao's lab is integrating high-throughput computational and experimental approaches to harness the vast diversity of genes in microbes to develop new antibiotics and molecular biotechnology, and to investigate the evolution of proteins and molecular mechanisms in innate immunity.
-
Alex Aiken - Alcatel-Lucent Professor in Communications and Networking and Professor of Computer Science
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Aiken's research focuses on developing techniques for the construction of reliable software systems. -
Alberto Salleo - Professor of Materials Science & Engineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Alberto Salleo's Research Group is interested in novel materials and processing techniques for large-area and flexible electronic/photonic devices. They also study defects and structure/property relations of polymeric semiconductors, as well as nano-structured and amorphous materials in thin films.
Dr. Salleo's group's additional research interests include:
-
Albert Y. Wu - Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Wu spearheads the oculoplastic research program at Stanford University and is developing cutting edge stem cell and regenerative medicine treatments for vision loss and other eye diseases. -
Alan Schatzberg - Kenneth T. Norris, Jr. Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Schatzberg's current research is in biological bases of depressive disorders, glucocorticoid/dopamine interactions in delusional depression, and pharmacologic treatment of depressive disorders. -
Alan Pao - Assistant Professor of Medicine (Nephrology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Pao is interested in the hormonal and signal transduction pathways that control epithelial ion transport. -
Alan Krensky - Shelagh Galligan Professor in the School of Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics, Emeritus
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Krensky's laboratory focuses on using knowledge about the basic mechanisms of T lymphocyte biology in order to design novel immunotherapies for use in infectious diseases, transplantation, cancer, and autoimmune diseases.
