The Sun lab focuses on understanding the molecular mechanism of transcription factors that govern the transformation of normal mammalian cells to a neoplastic state.
Dr. He's research is concentrated in the area of statistical genetics and integrative analysis of omics data, attempting to develop new statistical methodologies that aid with the identification and interpretation of complex biological pathways involved in human diseases, particularly neurological disorders.
Research areas in the Bao Group include synthesis of functional organic and polymer materials, organic electronic device design and fabrication, and applications development for organic electronics.
Dr. Patel is an expert in advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery. She treats patients with a wide variety of rhinologic complaints, including chronic sinus infection or inflammation, sinus disease that has failed medical therapy, sinus disease that has failed prior surgical therapy, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, benign and and malignant sinus and skull base tumors, as well as olfactory disorders.
Dr. Zachary Sellers is a pediatric physician-scientist striving to advance cystic fibrosis clinical care and translational research. Clinically, Dr. Sellers is focused on gastrointestinal manifestations of cystic fibrosis, developing diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to improve the gastrointestinal and liver health of those with cystic fibrosis. He also specializes in the clinical management of pediatric pancreatitis and am involved with the international INSPPIRE consortium to study pediatric pancreatitis.
The research Dr. Maldonado has conducted has been focused on epidemiologic aspects of viral vaccine development and prevention of perinatal HIV transmission. A major project has been to identify the molecular epidemiology of factors affecting the immunogenicity of oral polio vaccine (OPV) among children living in developing areas of the world, where OPV immunogenicity is poor. Dr. Maldonando's group has identified several factors which affect the poor immunogenicity of OPV and will conduct clinical studies to attempt to improve immunogenicity.
The Suzuki group focuses on the study of novel ground states and functional properties in condensed matter systems synthesized via atomically precise thin film deposition techniques.
Dr. So is interested in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, neuropathies, myasthenia gravis, and electrophysiological characterization of these disorders.
