"Investigating Signaling Mechanisms during Human Embryo Implantation"

Embryo implantation in the endometrium is essential for establishing pregnancy, yet implantation failure accounts for up to 40-60% of early pregnancy loss. Understanding implantation is critical for improving infertility treatments and preventing pregnancy-related complications such as preeclampsia. Successful implantation requires communication between the embryo and endometrium through poorly understood cellular signaling. A recent proteomic screen by the Molè lab identified candidate secreted factors that may regulate this process. I will modulate the expression of these proteins and analyze their effects on implantation using established embryo and endometrium models. This project aims to clarify key mechanisms underlying implantation success.
