Dr. Levenston's primary research interests relate to the function, degeneration and repair of articular cartilage and fibrocartilage, with an emphasis on understanding the complex interactions between biophysical and biochemical cues in controlling cell behavior.

Dr. Longaker's extensive research experience includes the cellular and molecular biology of extracellular matrix with specific applications to the differences between fetal and post-natal wound healing, the biology of keloids and hypertrophic scars, the cellular and molecular events in craniofacial development and stem cell biology.
