Bio-X Affiliated FacultyThe long-term goal of Dr. Bill Newsome's research is to understand the neuronal processes that mediate visual perception and visually guided behavior. -
William Mitch - Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyEmploying a fundamental understanding of organic chemical reaction pathways, Dr. William Mitch's research explores links between public health, engineering and sustainability. Topics of current interest include:
-
William Kuo - Professor of Radiology (Interventional Radiology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Kuo's main focuses are in laser-assisted and complex IVC filter retrieval, catheter-directed therapy for acute pulmonary embolism, international PE registry, IVC filter registry, and endovascular treatment of caval and deep venous thrombosis. -
William James Nelson - Rudy J. & Daphne Donohue Munzer Professor in the School of Medicine, Emeritus
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyThe Nelson lab's research seeks to understand how cell interactions specify the correct cellular organization of complex tissues, and how structurally and functionally different plasma membrane domains are assembled and tailored to specific tissue and organ functions. -
William Hiesinger - Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery (Adult Cardiac Surgery)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Hiesinger's research interests include investigating the application of molecular and tissue engineering to the translation of angiogenic cytokine therapy for ischemic heart failure and bioengineered devices. -
William H. Robinson - Associate Professor of Medicine (Immunology and Rheumatology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Robinson's lab studies the molecular mechanisms of and develops therapies to treat autoimmune and rheumatic diseases, with a focus on rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and osteoarthritis. -
William Greenleaf - Professor of Genetics
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Greenleaf's lab focuses on developing methods to probe the genome and epigenome at the single-cell and single-molecule levels. -
William Goodyer - Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. William Goodyer is a physician scientist who specializes in Pediatric Cardiology and Electrophysiology. Dr. Goodyer graduated from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) with a BSc in Biology prior to completing his graduate studies at Stanford University in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). He subsequently completed residency training in Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital before returning to Stanford to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology and advanced fellowship in Pediatric Electrophysiology.
-
William Gilly - Professor of Oceans
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Gilly has contributed to understanding electrical excitability of nerve and muscle in organisms ranging from brittle-stars to mammals, often using the squid giant axon as a model system. -
William Giardino - Assistant Professor (Research) of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (Sleep Medicine)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyThe Giardino Lab of Circuits & Systems Neuroscience in Stanford's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is currently accepting applicants for researchers at all levels of experience. We aim to decipher the neural mechanisms underlying psychiatric conditions of stress, addiction, and sleep disturbances.
