Dr. Alexandra (Alex) Konings is an Associate Professor of Earth System Science at Stanford. Her work is interested in understanding (and building remote sensing tools to understand) interactions between ecosystems and water.
The Stanford Interventional Radiology Translational Theranostics (SIRTT) lab, under Dr. Alexander Vezeridis, is developing next generation therapies using minimally invasive image-guided approaches.
Nature has created many powerful biomolecules that are hidden in organisms across kingdoms of life. Many of these biomolecules originate from microbes, which collectively contain the most diverse gene pool among living organisms. Dr. Alex Gao's lab is integrating high-throughput computational and experimental approaches to harness the vast diversity of genes in microbes to develop new antibiotics and molecular biotechnology, and to investigate the evolution of proteins and molecular mechanisms in innate immunity.
Dr. Alberto Salleo's Research Group is interested in novel materials and processing techniques for large-area and flexible electronic/photonic devices. They also study defects and structure/property relations of polymeric semiconductors, as well as nano-structured and amorphous materials in thin films.
