• Bio-X Kids Science Day 2014

Youth of all ages were welcome for an afternoon of science and fun!

    June 13, 2014 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
    Clark Center Courtyard
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Rare somatic cells from human breast tissue exhibit extensive lineage plasticity

    FRONTIERS IN INTERDISCIPLINARY BIOSCIENCES SEMINAR

THEA TLSTY, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SAN FRANCISCO

We identified cells within human adult tissue that can acquire a phenotypic plastic state. These rare cells can be directly isolated and shown to exhibit extensive lineage plasticity creating functional derivatives of heart, brain, bone, cartilage, gut and many more tissues.

    May 01, 2014 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM
    Clark Center Auditorium
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Cortical Interneurons: creation, wiring and disease

    Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Seminar

    GORDON FISHELL, NYU

Dr. Fishell's talk will be roughly one hour.  The pre-seminar will introduce basic concepts and background for non-experts. Registered students must attend all pre-seminars and sign in for credit; all other guests are welcome.

    March 13, 2014 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM
    Clark Center Auditorium
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Seed Grants Poster Session

JOIN US FOR A BIO-X POSTER SESSION!

    March 03, 2014 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Nexus Café - Clark Center South Wing
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Single-cell analysis of the human brain

    Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Seminar

    KUN ZHANG, UC SAN DIEGO

Individual cells in a population are often somewhat different from one to another. Measurements made on bulk cell populations do not capture the inherent heterogeneity of the cell population, and important insights can be missed.

    February 13, 2014 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM
    Clark Center Auditorium
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Dynamically Tunable Hydrogel Matrices: Cell Biology in the Fourth Dimension

    Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Seminar

KRISTI ANSETH, UNIV. OF COLORADO IN BOULDER

Methods for culturing mammalian cells in a biologically relevant context are increasingly needed to study cell and tissue physiology, expand and differentiate progenitor cells, and to grow replacement tissues for regenerative medicine.

    January 16, 2014 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM
    Clark Center Auditorium
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Green Technology Talk

The talk, given by Allison Paradise from My Green Lab, comprised of two related topics.

    November 22, 2013 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    Clark Center S362
James H. Clark Center 318 Campus Drive West, Stanford, CA 94305
  • Itch Mechanisms

    Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Seminar

    XINZHONG DONG, JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

Chronic itch conditions, such as those arising from atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, renal and liver diseases, drug treatment, significantly affects the quality of the patients’ lives.

    November 21, 2013 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM
