By working in the lab as a visiting scholar or visiting postdoc by a hosting Stanford Bio-X professor for a set period of time, collaborations are strengthened beyond the typical academic-industry collaboration.  The direct one-on-one partnerships in the setting of world-class facilities at Stanford University allow for deeper engagement over mutual interests to develop novel and innovative research and technologies.

The success of the Fellowships at Stanford Bio-X has inspired the Novo Nordisk Foundation to expand and extend its Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellowship Program - check out the press release!

NOVO NORDISK FONDEN VISITING SCHOLAR OR VISITING POSTDOC FELLOWSHIPS @ STANFORD BIO-X

Through a relationship that started back in 2010 which led to a 2012 Novo Nordisk-sponsored research projectaffiliate membership partnering with the University of Aarhus, and numerous in-depth conversations with Novo Nordisk Foundation's (NNF's) top executives, Stanford Bio-X has partnered with NNF since 2014 in establishing this joint visiting scholar or visiting postdoc fellowship program.  The fellowship supports visiting scholars or visiting postdocs with a significant association to Denmark's academic or research environment to conduct postdoctoral-level research at Stanford for 3 years at a time before returning to their hosting Danish institution for their 4th and final year. The program is designed to strengthen the exchange of scientific expertise between Stanford and Denmark while also enhancing the fellows' research experience and training at the highest international level.

Each awarded fellow will be mentored by at least 2 Stanford Bio-X affiliated faculty while here at Stanford, and he/she will receive up to DKK 4,000,000 for the entire fellowship.

With 17 fellows successfully selected into the program, we are now in the 10th RFP with applications being accepted through the NNF's website (learn more here).  Click below for the projects already selected into the program from the past rounds.
