Dr. Elizabeth Mayne's lab uses mouse models of pediatric stroke to study how brain injuries in childhood disrupt later neurodevelopment, with a long-term goal of developing treatments to prevent or reduce cognitive disability after pediatric stroke and other acquired brain injuries of childhood.
