Bio-X Affiliated FacultyResearch in Dr. Dinneny's lab is aimed at understanding the response of roots to water-limiting conditions and is exploring this process at different organizational scales from the individual cell type to the level of the whole plant. -
Jorg Goronzy - Professor of Medicine (Immunology & Rheumatology), Emeritus
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyThe Goronzy lab is interested in understanding how a functional immune system is maintained with age, despite failing regenerative capacity and accumulating impacts by challenges from exogenous and latent infections. -
Joonhee Choi - Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Joonhee Choi is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Joonhee received his Ph.D. and master’s from Harvard University, as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology. Prior to joining Stanford, he worked as an IQIM postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter (IQIM) at Caltech. Joonhee’s research focus has been on engineering the dynamics of quantum many-body systems for both exploring fundamental science and demonstrating practical quantum applications.

Joo Ha Hwang - Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology & Hepatology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Joo Ha Hwang specializes in early detection of gastrointestinal malignancies including esophageal cancer, gastric (stomach) cancer, pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancer and colon cancer. Dr. Hwang performs advanced endoscopic procedures including EUS-FNA, ERCP and enteroscopy. In addition, Dr. Hwang also performs per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) to resect large colorectal polyps, and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) to resect early esophageal, gastric, and colorectal cancers.

Jongsoo Park - Associate Professor of Neurosurgery
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Park's current research is in non-fusion dynamic spinal stabilization, artificial disc technologies, and regenerative spinal technologies. -
Jong H. Yoon - Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (Public Mental Health & Population Sciences)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Yoon's research seeks to discover the brain mechanisms responsible for schizophrenia and to translate this knowledge into the clinic to improve how we diagnose and treat this condition. -
Jonathan Z. Long - Assistant Professor of Pathology
Bio-X Affiliated Faculty, Seed Grant Committee MemberDr. Long's lab uses a multidisciplinary approach to discover new bioactive metabolite pathways and to understand how these pathways control metabolic homeostasis and organismal physiology. -
Jonathan Taylor - Professor of Statistics
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Jonathan Taylor's research focuses on selective inference in signal detection problems. These can include how to correct for model search, assessment of significance of peaks in noise and simultaneous inference under structured models of error.

Jonathan S. Berek - Laurie Kraus Lacob Professor
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Berek's research interests include drug development for ovarian cancer: he is currently studying levels of GBP1 expression, target protein levels, and the drug effect. -
Jonathan R. Polimeni - Associate Professor of Radiology (Radiological Sciences Laboratory)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Jonathan Polimeni's lab is focused on developing technologies for high-resolution functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) at ultra-high magnetic field strengths, and on applying these to understanding the human brain. A key goal is to improve the specificity and interpretability of human fMRI, both for inferring neuronal activity and for measuring neurovascular function in health and disease.
