Randall S. Stafford, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at the Stanford School of Medicine and the Director of the Program on Prevention Outcomes and Practices (PPOP). After undergraduate studies in medical sociology at Reed College, Dr. Stafford received a Master's degree in Health Administration from Johns Hopkins University, a PhD in Epidemiology from UC Berkeley, and his Medical degree from UC San Francisco. He completed a residency in primary care internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a post-doctoral fellowship in epidemiology at the U.S.

Dr. Srivastava's core interest is in combining computer technology and medicine for innovative applications.

Dr. Pao is interested in the hormonal and signal transduction pathways that control epithelial ion transport.

Dr. Palesh's research is in the area of cancer control. She is primarily interested in investigating the impact of cancer treatments on sleep, fatigue and quality of life.

Dr. Owen's current research is in statistical methods to analyze large data matrices in bioinformatics.

Dr. Ormond's research focuses on the intersection between genetics and ethics, particularly around the translation of new genetic technologies (such as genome sequencing or non-invasive prenatal diagnosis) into clinical practice.

Dr. Spielman's interests are in the field of magnetic resonance imaging and in vivo spectroscopy.

Dr. Spiekerkoetter's research focuses on the importance of the Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2) signaling pathway in pulmonary, pulmonary-vascular as well as cardiac disease.

The goals of Dr. Justin Sonnenburg's lab's research program are to (i) elucidate the basic mechanisms that underlie dynamics within the gut microbiota and (ii) devise and implement strategies to prevent and treat disease in humans via the gut microbiota.

Dr. Solomon's group uses a wide range of spectroscopic methods coupled to calculations (density functional and ligand field theories) to understand the electronic structure of metal sites and its contribution to physical properties and reactivity.
