Meg Cychosz - Assistant Professor of Linguistics
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Meg Cychosz investigates how infants and children develop speech and language, including children with hearing differences and multilingual learners. Her research bridges linguistics, cognitive science, developmental psychology, and electrical engineering to understand fundamental questions about language acquisition. Her interdisciplinary approach combines fieldwork with computational methods, using deep learning and automatic speech recognition tools to analyze naturalistic speech recordings from children's daily lives.

Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Maya Mathur is an Assistant Professor at the Stanford University Quantitative Sciences Unit, the principal investigator of the Humane & Sustainable Food Lab, and the Associate Director of the Stanford Center for Open and Reproducible Science. Dr. Mathur is a statistician whose methodological research focuses on advancing methods for causal inference, meta-analysis, replication studies, and sensitivity analysis. Her lab’s empirical research focuses on effective means to reduce global consumption of meat and animal products.

Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Maya Kasowski is a clinical pathologist and assistant professor in the Departments of Medicine, Pathology, and Genetics (by courtesy) at Stanford. She completed her MD-PhD training at Yale University and her residency training and a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Genetics at Stanford University. Dr. Kasowski's experiences as a clinical pathologist and genome scientist have made her passionate about applying cutting-edge technologies to primary patient specimens in order to characterize disease pathologies at the molecular level.

Matthias Garten - Assistant Professor of Microbiology & Immunology and of Bioengineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Matthias Garten is an assistant professor in the department of Immunology and Microbiology and the department of Bioengineering. He is a membrane biophysicist who is driven by the question of how the malaria parasite interfaces with its host-red blood cell, how we can use the unique mechanisms of the parasite to treat malaria and to re-engineer cells for biomedical applications.

Matthew Wheeler - Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Matthew Wheeler is a physician scientist with interests in cardiomyopathies, rare and undiagnosed diseases, therapeutics and genomics. Dr. Wheeler has research training in both myocardial and skeletal muscle biology and genetics, genomics, and multi-scale networks and is a physician with interest and experience treating patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and other inherited cardiomyopathies. I have clinical training in medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular genetics, and advanced heart failure.
