Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Ferrell's laboratory studies the mitosis and meiosis cycle. Their goal is to understand the design principles of this system, and perhaps to gain insight into the systems that drive other biological oscillations (e.g. heart beats, calcium oscillations, circadian rhythms). -

James Dunn - John A. and Cynthia Fry Gunn Director of Pediatric Surgery and Professor of Surgery (Pediatric Surgery) and (by courtesy) of Bioengineering
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Dunn's research interests include intestinal lengthening for short bowel syndrome, intestinal stem cell therapy for intestinal failure, skin derived precursor cell therapy for enteric neuromuscular dysfunction, and intestinal tissue engineering. -
James Chen - Professor of Chemical & Systems Biology and of Developmental Biology and (by courtesy) of Chemistry
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Chen's laboratory integrates synthetic chemistry and developmental biology to interrogate the molecular mechanisms that control embryonic patterning, tissue regeneration, and oncogenesis. -
James Chang - Johnson & Johnson Professor of Surgery
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Chang's basic science research interests include modulation of Transforming Growth Factor-Beta in scarless flexor tendon wound healing and tissue engineered flexor tendon grafts for hand reconstruction. -
James Brooks - Keith and Jan Hurlbut Professor
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. James Brooks's group's interest is in developing diagnostic and prognostic markers for urological diseases. Their work spans discovery, measurement methodologies, and clinical validation of candidate biomarkers. They have primarily used genomic and proteomic approaches for biomarker discovery. While their primary focus has been in prostate cancer, we have also worked in kidney cancer and other malignancies.
