Dr. Susan Hiniker is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology in Radiation Therapy at Stanford University, and practices at Stanford Health Care, Stanford Medicine Children's Health, and Stanford Medicine Partners.

Dr. Hiniker is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in treating pediatric patients with cancers involving the central nervous system and elsewhere in the body.  Her clinical and research interests focus on studying ways of enhancing the efficacy of radiation therapy in children while minimizing long-term effects.  She is also interested in improving the experience of radiation therapy for children, and she is leading a multicenter trial evaluating the efficacy of video-based distraction during radiation therapy in reducing the need for anesthesia during treatment.
