Casey Haaland is a rising sophomore and a potential electrical engineering major from Manhattan Beach, California. This summer he is researching methods to improve the efficiency of ion capture in mass spectrometers at the Teruel Lab. The end goal of improving the efficiency of mass spectrometers is to allow for the analysis of smaller, clinical samples. His primary areas of interest at Stanford are physics and mathematics as well as their applications.
