Ali Kuhlmann is a rising junior from Dallas, Texas planning to double major in English and biology. This summer, Ali is continuing her research in Julie Theriot's lab, where she has worked since her freshman year. She works with the pathogen Listeria monocytogenes, a model organism for the study of actin-based motility and cytoskeleton dynamics. She is currently conducting a pharmaceutical assay to better understand the biochemical pathway of infection. Ali plans to pursue a career in either academics or medicine.
