“Visualizing Enhancer-Gene Regulatory Interactions to Link Heart Disease Variants to Target Genes"
Angel aims to develop a genomics viewer that would advance the analysis of DNA switches and their target genes that are crucial for how differences in our DNA affect our risk for heart disease. By providing an accessible platform for visualization, this tool will support research into the genetic basis of various cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease and congenital heart defects. This work directly contributes to the Engreitz lab’s mission of connecting disease variants to their molecular functions, ultimately aiding in the development of new therapeutic strategies for heart diseases.
