Cameron Backes is working to discover a biological indicator that predicts the future onset of major depression versus bipolar disorder. This research will help to facilitate the accurate differential diagnoses of these disorders during early stages of onset, and will help to expedite the treatment process by providing a mechanism to identify at-risk individuals.
