Catherine Lu is a rising sophomore working in the Fernald lab under the close mentorship of postdoc Rosa Alcazar. She is looking at small RNA expression and biogenesis in an African cichlid fish, A. burtoni, using biocomputation techniques. She intends to major in biomedical computation and hopes to go to graduate school or medical school in the future.
