Jeremy Lai is about to begin his sophomore year studying chemistry and computer science. This summer, Jeremy worked on building Markov State Models for protein folding systems to explore the general nature of protein folding. There has been much interest in determining if protein folding is directed by a set of independent folding units or by the entire system. Jeremy's research hopes to settle this issue.
