The focus of this research group broadly spans the engineering of "soft" optical and optoelectronic materials and devices; "soft" here refers generally to materials and devices with unique mechanical, chemical, and electrochemical properties, achieved with combinations of bottom-up and top-down processing.  Applications of these systems include metamaterials, optical beam shaping, detectors, displays, and biomedical diagnostics.
