Dr. Nicholas Giori's research interests include osteoarthritis and medical device development. Dr. Giori is an orthopedic surgeon with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. 

Dr. Giori’s practice focuses on hip and knee arthroplasty.  He is Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Stanford University and currently serves as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery within the VA (Veterans Affairs) Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) in Palo Alto, CA, a position he has held since 2006. He had also served as Medical Director of the Bone and Joint Rehabilitation Research and Development Center.

As an educator, he has been awarded the Saul Halpern MD Orthopaedic Educator of the Year Award at Stanford University Medical School on five occasions. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and of the Knee Society. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed publications and commentaries in leading orthopedic journals.
