Nick is using cardiac stem cells to investigate the molecular regulation of cardiac progenitor cells by the gene Yin Yang 1 (YY1) in vivo and in vitro. This research will contribute to the knowledge of cardiac lineage commitment, which is crucial for devising successful therapies in congenital heart disease and regenerative medicine.
