Photo of Omar Garcia.Omar Garcia is studying the interactions of different pathogens within the lungs of immunocompromised individuals. Specifically, he will be studying the chemistry behind the removal of iron by a virus that infects bacteria. The insight gained from this research could lead to a novel treatment for severe lung infections in cystic fibrosis patients.
