Research Title: Comparative modeling and protein-like features of hydrophobic–polar models on a two-dimensional lattice

Research Description: Sergio worked in Professor Levitt's group using simple theoretical models of proteins to address important questions that are still unknown for proteins occurring in living organisms. Their models allow them to study very large collections of proteins and compare their properties with those of real proteins. They also use their models to address fundamental questions about proteins such as the interplay of chemistry and evolution in different scenarios.
