Svetlana Lyalina is a rising senior from Thousand Oaks, California. She is majoring in bioengineering and computer science. This summer, she intends to use data mining techniques on electronic medical records to discover temporal patterns in descriptions of mental illness. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Svetlana would like to pursue a PhD in bioinformatics.
