“Traditional Chinese Medicine Effect on Gut Microbiome"
Studying the gut microbiome through traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) offers a unique opportunity to explore the relationship between natural compounds and microbial communities. TCM herbs often contain diverse bioactive components, such as polysaccharides and polyphenols, that can selectively influence microbial composition and activity. Investigating these interactions may reveal mechanisms of prebiotic effects, modulation of gut dysbiosis, and promotion of host health. Additionally, TCM provides a rich reservoir of compounds to identify novel microbiome-targeted therapeutics. By integrating TCM’s holistic principles with modern microbiome research, we can bridge traditional wisdom and contemporary science, advancing personalized medicine and gut health interventions.
