Dr. Steve Collins is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, where he teaches courses on design and robotics and directs the Stanford Biomechatronics Laboratory. The Howitt lab seeks to understand how interactions between intestinal epithelial cells and the gut microbiota can contribute to both health and disease.

Dr. Qin's research focuses on development of microscopic understanding of structural and physical properties of soft matters by using a combination of analytical theory, scaling argument, numerical computation, and molecular simulation.

Dr. Chen's group seeks to empower individuals with the collective experience of the many, combining human and artificial intelligence approaches to medicine that will deliver better care than what either can do alone.

Dr. Kochenderfer is the director of the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory (SISL), conducting research on advanced algorithms and analytical methods for the design of robust decision making systems, particularly systems for air traffic control, unmanned aircraft, and other aerospace applications where decisions must be made in uncertain, dynamic environments while maintaining safety and efficiency.
