Research Title: Connecting genotype to phenotype through novel statistical methods that leverage gene expression

Research Description: A core concern of genomics is the connection of genotypic variation, at the level of DNA sequence, with phenotypic variation, such as disease status. Many studies have shown that connecting these two levels of variation directly can be difficult and that a useful intermediary is variation at the level of gene expression. Trevor’s research focuses on developing novel statistical methods to understand how gene expression variation has evolved that allow for new ways of studying the intersection between genetics and disease.
