Seed Grant Committee Member, Bio-X Affiliated Faculty, Clark Center FacultyDr. Axel Brunger's laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms of neurotransmitter release, and how these mechanisms relate to physiological function. -
Aya Kamaya - Assistant Professor of Radiology (Diagnostic Radiology)
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Kamaya's current research is in photoacoustic imaging of cancer and perfusion CT imaging of abdominal tumors. -
Ayelet Voskoboynik - Assistant Professor (Research) of Biology
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Ayelet Voskoboynik is an expert in the field of comparative immunology and stem cell biology. Her studies significantly contribute to the development of the colonial chordate Botryllus schlosseri as a model system to study stem cell biology, aging, and the evolution of immunity.

Bali Pulendran - Violetta L. Horton Professor and Professor of Microbiology & Immunology
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Bali Pulendran’s work focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which the innate immune system regulates adaptive immunity and harnessing such mechanisms in the design of novel vaccines against global pandemics. More recently, he has begun to apply systems biological approaches to predicting the efficacy of vaccines, and deciphering new correlates of protection against infectious diseases.

Barbara Block - Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Professor of Marine Sciences, Professor of Oceans and Senior Fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Barbara A. Block holds the Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Professorship at Stanford University. Her research is focused on how large pelagic fish utilize the open ocean spanning from genomics to biologging. She and her team have pioneered the successful development and deployment of electronic tags on tunas, billfishes and sharks. The combination of lab and field research has led to a rapid increase in the understanding of movement patterns, population structure, physiology and behaviors of pelagic fish and sharks.
-
Barbara E. Engelhardt - Professor (Research) of Biomedical Data Science
Bio-X Affiliated FacultyDr. Engelhardt's research is focused on developing and applying models for structured biomedical data that capture patterns in the data, predict results of interventions to the system, assist with decision-making support, and prioritize experiments for design and engineering of biological systems. -
