“Re-engraftment of Transplanted Upper Airway Stem Cells to Study Durability of Cystic Fibrosis Airway Sinus Disease”

Cystic fibrosis is a disease that causes problems in the cells found in the upper airways of the lungs, and is currently uncurable. Natalia aims to test the efficiency of transplanted stem cells in their ability to recreate the upper airway epithelium on a mouse model of this disease. The approach is interdisciplinary and will combine stem cell biology, transplantation, and imaging techniques to confirm the presence of transferred cells into the mice.
